I like the shift in scale from foreground to background. Something about the way the river gets wider as it recedes throws off the perspective especially because it is so empty compared to the left and right banks.
Agreed. Your drawings mesh very well with the landscape. In addition to the lake perspective the road/track meeting point is slightly confusing, but overall really well composed. In a nostalgic way it almost reminds me of children's story books like The story about Ferdinand.
